The town of Abilene can be divided into three main areas. South of the city is historic Old Town, which has lots of beautiful homes built during the post-civil war years. East of Abilene is what’s called Southwestern Texas, which is currently undergoing massive development. Finally, the heart of the town is North West, which is the oldest part of Abilene and the site of the former rail line known as Texas Steel and Copper Railroad.
